As long as it meets the <a href="https://www.globe.gov/documents/10157/380993/Tool+Kit">Instrument Specifications (p. 25 for air temperature)</a> then it can be used following calibration procedures. In the instrument specs section for air temperature it reads, <br />"Instrument Specifications: Digital Temperature Sensor Digital temperature sensors may also be used to monitor temperature.
