Together with my students from 5. a, we have chosen to observe a birch (lat. Betula pendula).

Common birch (Betula pendula) is a popular ornamental tree, but it also has its home in forests, especially in clearings and forest edges. Because of their characteristic white bark, birches can be seen from afar and are a nice addition to forests where gray-brown color shades dominate among the trunks. In autumn, the foliage turns golden yellow, which makes birch trees even more attractive. In our country, the birch is the most common in the Bela krajina.

This are the information about our tree:
Latitude: 46.416370
Longitude: 15.873905
Elevaton: 232 m
Tree height: 18,3 m
On September 23rd the leaves on our birch are still green, all leaves are 5GY 4/8
The air temperature is 21°C.
The soil is dry.
Kind regards from Ptuj!

Hello again from Primary school Mladika, Ptuj, Slovenia!

We have chosen to observe a birch (lat. Betula pendula).
We started observing on September 23rd. All four leaves were in phase 5GY 4/8.
On November 7th, two leaves have already fallen, one leaf is in the phase 2.5Y 8/6 and other is in phase 2.5Y 8/12.
On November 10th all leaves have fallen.

Kind regards!
