The members of the Eco Club “Voice of the Earth” of LEPL Ozurgeti Municipality Naruja Public School actively participated once again in the international educational GLOBE autumn project. On December 26, 2025, the Eco Club members held the final summary meeting.
Over the course of three months (October–November–December), students actively carried out phenological observations on changes in plant coloration. They observed specially selected plants—hazelnut, walnut, and cornelian cherry—and assessed changes in leaf color. Students studied how chloroplasts break down in green leaves and how leaves transition from green to yellow pigmentation (chromoplasts).
Observations were conducted using special instruments, and the collected data were uploaded to a designated online platform. Through participation in the GLOBE project and the implementation of various activities, Eco Club members gained knowledge and observation skills, developed scientific thinking, and were given the opportunity for their collected data to be used in international research.
As a result, students strengthened their sense of responsibility, improved their ability to accurately record details, and learned to scientifically analyze natural processes. The Eco Club members plan to continue their active participation in the GLOBE spring project as well.

Hi! Our 2025 Autumn Phenology Campaign has come to the end, as all our observed trees have lost their leaves. We'd like to share results with you. Teachers and students of the Middle School L. Da Vinci in Marcallo want to thank you all, for all the wonderful activities proposed in the European Phenology Campaigns. We thank very much the Europe and Eurasia Regional Country Coordinators for the opportunity to know so many other schools in Europe and to share data. In this campaign we monitored fig, oak and birch trees. We have completed the phenological monitoring of fig and oak. However, we are still monitoring the birch, which still has most of its leaves on its branches. We have published the graphs and photos in the form of a video on the shared Padlet. We are glad to have participated in this phenological campaign. Petrinja High School GLOBE team.
