Using the same example that I sent I can see that there are 4 leaves with following color codes:
2,5Y:8/12
2,5Y:8/12
2.5Y:6/6
2.5Y:6/6
So I would say it is 50:50, always 2 leaves with the same color! How come that the predominant is 2.5Y:6/6 ? Why not 2,5Y:8/12 ? Statistically there should be no predominant color or 2 predominant colors, which both is difficult to show on the color-scale graph...

Thank you fot letting me know if there is any development regarding my questions 1 and 2.

Best regards,

BaraBára Semeráková2018-10-23T13:02:04ZGreen Down/Up school data visualization legend errorsBára Semerákováhttps://www.globe.gov/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=2659727&messageId=476280182018-09-07T14:26:30Z2018-09-07T14:26:30ZI have couple of comments to the school data viz in Green Down. When I open the pop up window with school data, there is a legend on the left from the graph:
1) Species - I am not sure how this works? If I choose from the drop down menu, does it really show me different species on the same site? or is it more connected to Leaves?
2) Mosquito Genera - what are mosquitoes doing here? should be Genus

One more question about the background of viz: The graph shows the color for the whole tree, but students record color for four leaves of the same tree. How does the system make the "average" color of these four leaves? How do you calculate this if you have 4 different unique color codes?

Thank you

BaraBára Semeráková2018-09-07T14:26:30ZTimeline Animation Tool in Viz for Phenology DataBára Semerákováhttps://www.globe.gov/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=2659727&messageId=446009752018-05-14T12:52:15Z2018-05-14T12:52:15ZI tried the animation tool in vizualization system for Phenology layers of Tree/Shrub Date of Budburst and for All Green Up and it seems that it does not work for these layers.
I know that the Budburst/Green Up data are different to for example air temperature data as visualization shows only one single date (date of budburst for example) instead of continous observations. But still it would make sense that the animation would show how the budburst was progressing in time: the icons of leaf in different colors would pop up right at the time of budburst when moving in time, means it would follow the legend.
Let´s say I choose budburst in Europe, time interval from Feb 1 to April 30. Ideal result is that the animation shows the icons popping up to the map as the budburst of trees progress through Europe at study sites from south to north.
Thanks
BaraBára Semeráková2018-05-14T12:52:15ZBug in displaying News on Country Pages plus map on Regional PageBára Semerákováhttps://www.globe.gov/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=2659727&messageId=363262992017-12-07T16:28:49Z2017-12-07T16:28:49Z1. We should also not forget to consider how to actually get the message to teachers. Everyone could have already started collaboration through the website, but only small percentage of teachers (and country coordinators as well) done so. I wonder what what the barriers are... They do not know about options and features? They generally find it difficult to handle the website? They are not used to collaborate online? Could be that the language is the main problem? They do not want to collaborate at all? First, we were thinking about the group for this campaign, then we (Regional Office) and Board of Governors agreed that it would be even better to have common space for all the members of our region to support mutual communication. And of course, our goal is to attract more CCs and teachers to use globe.gov...to make them active users.
If it is possible to create such a virtual space directly at http://www.globe.gov/web/europe-and-eurasia/overview, it would be great.

FYI, we have http://www.globe-europe.org/ - that is basically top-down communication channel, where we post news etc. So far http://www.globe.gov/web/europe-and-eurasia/overview plays the same role, means doubling... So, what we are missing is "live" space where active CCs and teachers can meet, discuss and share even without us, the regional office.
We definitely need discussion forum, sharing space (documents, pictures, videos...) that would be easily accessible for the logged in members plus visible for the people who might not be signed in yet. Members of the group should see who are the other members and access them easily, invite others to participate.

Then there is one more question: if, instead of collaboration group, we have all this features on http://www.globe.gov/web/europe-and-eurasia/overview, what are the options to build "subgroups"? Let´s say there is a group of people involved with Aerosol Project. Where they can have separate space? Within collaboration groups as http://www.globe.gov/web/phenology-and-climate/overview? Or under the http://www.globe.gov/web/europe-and-eurasia/overview somehow? How it will be linked together? Browsing the "Collaboration groups", how I will get to know that there is active group on Aerosols under the GLOBE Europe and Eurasia? I can´t imagine how it would work, but I am sure you can :-)Bára Semeráková2012-10-12T13:33:02ZCollaboration Group Europe and EurasiaBára Semerákováhttps://www.globe.gov/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=2659727&messageId=31386862013-02-06T01:24:39Z2012-10-01T13:16:13ZHi, we were thinking about starting a collaboration group for our region, where we can discuss, share docs etc. It would make communication much easier for CCs, scientists, teachers and RHDO from Europe and Eurasia.
