Cameroon GLOBE Students Increase Environmental Awareness of Municipal Lake
Between 2000 and 2003, twenty secondary-school students at Lycée Bilingue d'Application (LBA) Yaoundé used GLOBE protocols to study the water quality of Yaoundé Municipal Lake in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Under the guidance of their teacher, Mr. George Nditifon, who is also a GLOBE Assistant Master Trainer in Hydrology, these students found the lake to be highly stressful for aquatic life.

Greg Lopatka's model of GLOBE sustainability in Illinois
Greg Lopatka became a GLOBE trainer in March 1995. Since then, he has trained at 12 different workshops in places ranging from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA to University of Colorado in Boulder, CO.

The 6th GLOBE Germany Students' Congress at the DLR School Lab in Cologne Porz
The Project Department "Agenda 21 in schools and youth work" at the North Rhine-Westfalia institute for schools, which is in charge of the NRW Globe-Germany schools, hosted the Globe-Germany Students' Congress for the second time on June 8, 2005, together with the DLR School Lab in Cologne-Porz. This was the 6th congress since 2000 and the third one at DLR.

Oct 3rd 2005 Sun Eclipse Report - Saudi Arabia
Even though we are concentrating on our four protocols in the GLOBE program, we found ourselves focusing our study on other phenomena that affect temperature in our area. On October 3rd 2005 our coordinator Mr. Waleed Al-Garni, my students and I visited the astronomy department at King Abdul Aziz Univisity to attend a presentation and report on the eclipse.

GLOBE in Alabama
GLOBE in Alabama (GIA) was established in 1999 as a state-based partner of The GLOBE Program. GIA is administered by the National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC), which is a formal partnership between NASA and the State of Alabama's seven research universities.

100,000 Points of Data
Recently, four juniors at Norfork High School; Renee L., Jacob M., Breanna V., and Kendra R. visited their former science classroom to celebrate the schools' achievement of reaching 100,000 points of data. The purpose of their visit was to share their enthusiasm for GLOBE with the present sixth graders and teach them how to take atmospheric measurements.

GLOBE Principle Investigator Visits the 2005 Estonia GLOBE Games
Dr. David Brooks, GLOBE Principle Investigator (PI) for Aerosols and Water Vapor, attended the Estonian GLOBE Games, which were held at a summer camp on the shores of the Baltic Sea near the town of Kuuresaare on the island of Saaremaa from August 9 to 11, 2005. Students and teachers from Estonia, Latvia, and Finland gathered to practice GLOBE protocols, make new friends and develop partnerships.

The GLOBE School for Environmental Research, Region 2 (East Bronx), New York City
The GLOBE School for Environmental Research opened its doors this September to 216 sixth grade students in the Wakefield neighborhood in East Bronx. This middle school (Grades 6-8) is one of 54 new small schools approved by the New York City Department of Education from more than 100 proposals, and represents a partnership among the Department of Education, Region 2, Queens College's GLOBE NY Metro Partnership, the YMCA of Greater New York, and the New York Botanical Gardens.

Jordanian Student creates Email Data Entry Generator!
Have you ever entered your GLOBE data via E-mail? It's a fantastic method of sending large amounts of data to the GLOBE database. However, it can be a bit overwhelming and difficult to understand the codes necessary to enter data. A former Jordanian GLOBE student has developed a program to help overcome these problems.

GLOBE Inspires Poetry
Over the years, many schools have used GLOBE in non-science subjects such as math, social studies, and language classes to name a few. We would like to share a poem written by a Yayou Herve, a student from the Lycee Technique de Bafoussom in Cameroon. The poem was written in French and has been translated into English. The English version follows the French version below.
