Great Things are Happening in Texas!
There are now 41 GLOBE Partnerships in the state of Texas. Texas has a very unique science education organization called the Texas Regional Collaboratives for Excellence in Science Teaching (TRC) that provides sustained and high intensity professional development to K-12 teachers of science across the state. Housed at The University of Texas at Austin, this state office is also a GLOBE Partner and will serve as the Texas TRC GLOBE Coordination site.  >>

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Hosts GLOBE Field Campaign
In Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, on the grounds of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DEWA), students, teachers, scientists and park personnel gathered recently to evaluate land-cover and satellite images of the area for the purpose of verifying the accuracy of NASA's satellite maps. Accurate analysis of land-cover provides clues to the environmental effects of urban development in the area and this day-long field campaign focused on impacts to National Parks in the Upper Delaware Basin.  >>

Students in Illinois Find Exciting Ways to Share GLOBE with Their Community
For the community of Lisle Illinois, the Morton Arboretum is "a place for trees, a place for people, and a place for fun." In late 2005, GLOBE teacher Maureen Nolan from Steeple Run School, decided it was a perfect place for GLOBE too. So Maureen loaned the arboretum some extra equipment, and with the help of Illinois GLOBE Training Coordinator Greg Lopatka, installed it into the arboretum's weather station in November.  >>

Model School: Pennsylvania School Integrates GLOBE Protocols into Existing Science Curriculum
When High School science teacher Todd Toth returned from a weeklong GLOBE training back in April of 1995, he got a pleasant surprise: His building principal suggested he develop a new science elective based on what he had learned. Over the next few years, Todd developed what is now the "Environmental Research" course, which is sponsored by California University of Pennsylvania as an equivalent to their freshman level earth science course.  >>
