We also reported this in the discussion forum and promised we would be doing some research. And here is what we discovered ....<br /><br /> We asked some local experts with regards our observation of budbursts on our Fig Tree in Autumn. They told us it is very normal at this time of year. During October and November the Maltese Islands receive a significant amount of rainfall after a very long period of dry weather. The availability of water together with relatively high temperatures (temperatures are still around 23 degrees Celsius) make the tree grow new leaves.
