Greetings from mt. Olympus - Greece GLOBE v-School!

Execuse me for my late reply, as I mentioned earlier today at the 2022 Autumn Tree (Phenology) Campaign Webinar, the branch of the oak tree which we have been observing from 2020 has dried. We took 8 observations as 'dormant'. I'll continue observing the same tree for the 2022 Autumn and we will try to find a new southeastern branch.

Hello to all from Lutsk Palace of Student Youth, Ukraine. Our students observed for the cherry, birch and lime from buds to leaves during the phenological campaign. They received these results throughout the observation period (data below on the slides). This year's spring is late and cool, so we observed the dormancy of the buds on the birch and lime during March (in cherry buds began to swell after March 20). Buds began to bloom in mid-April on the cherry and birch, on lime tree in early May (there was a rapid growth of leaves). The leaves of these trees stopped growing after May 18.

Mulberry Tree at The Friendly School

Hello everyone!

This year GLOBE students at San Lawrenz Primary School aka The Friendly School not only observed and measured leaf growth of the Mulberry Tree growing in the school garden but .....

they got busy squeezing the fruit of the Mulberry tree into juice and freezing it into refreshing popsicles!! It was great fun! They were so excited to watch the fruit grow and then to finally enjoy this sweet fruit.

Hopefully we get the opportunity to invite you at our school so you taste our mulberry juice and popsicles

Leaves on our fig tree stopped growing. Below you can see graph showing leaf growth through Spring 2022.

It was great reading news from your trees across Europe and looking forward to observe trees in autumn as they prepare for their winter sleep.

The graph below shows average leaf length for all 4 leaves we observed during the spring 2021 campaign. The dip at the end of the grah happened because branch with the leaf number 3 was broken at the end of the measuring period.

In Lithuania spring is cold and rainy. Tree leaves are still growing.

Mulberry Tree at The Friendly School

Today we visited our Mulberry Tree for the last time! It is really hot now and we noticed that the leaves stopped growing.

The Mulberry Tree made budburst on the 4th of March 2022.

The students enjoyed observing the greening up of the Mulberry Tree and have a nice surprise to share with you! Stay tuned ;)
