I've been working with a fantastic group from New Hampshire to provide professional development for educators for years. This year, we've spent a considerable amount of time on the pedosphere, from wetland soils to forest and grassland soils. We've talked about why trees go where they do and all the critters, both macro and micro, that spend time in soil. I've been digging through my Inbox, trying to clear out some of the large files from the past. I'm at a critical point as these files are triggering invitations to buy more space for storage. Rather than doing that, I'm deleting instead!

We are very fortunate to have a collaborative relationship with Dr. Joseph Kerski , the Education Manager from Esri . To advance our work together, he produced a couple short webinars on using GLOBE data in ArcGIS Online and wrote a blog about it too.

The hotel and dorm rooms are being reserved across the country for the United States Regional Student Research Symposia (SRS) . The agendas are roughed out. The speakers are confirming. Students are carrying out GLOBE protocols and analyzing data. Teachers are applying for funding to support team travel (due February 1st).
All of this gives me a chance to think about the students that have attended the SRS the past two years. GLOBE Partnership coordinators, GIO and I have met some incredible students and teachers. We'll be posting their stories for you to read too. The first one ...
