Great Global Investigation of Climate - Join in Now

The quarterly Great Global Investigation of Climate (GGIC) Intensive Observing Period (IOP) is currently underway. Students enter their temperature and precipitation data during any (or all) of the four annual IOPs. The entire month of March 2012 is one of these focused observation and data collection periods.

Collecting data throughout the year helps to build the GLOBE database. This allows students and other climate scientists to observe seasonal changes that vary across latitude and continents. By observing their environment over time, students are able to begin to better understand their climate and determine if there are any changes over time.

Full instructions on how to take part in the GGIC are available here. Become one of the growing numbers of participants in the GLOBE Student Climate Research Campaign.
