On Tuesday, 18 January (09:00 a.m. MST), the GIO will be hosting the webinar, “Conducting a Literature Review for your IVSS Project.” The speaker will be Juan Felipe Restrepo Mesa, who is the Knowledge Management Chief, Environmental Education Coordinator, and Biontessori's Research Group Leader for Colegio Montessori de Cartagena in Colombia, South America. In 2017, Juan joined The GLOBE Program as a teacher, and in 2018 became a Mosquito Habitat Mapper (The GLOBE Program’s app, GLOBE Observer, tool) Master Trainer. In 2020, he took part in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force, and is currently a GLOBE's DEI Working Group member. Juan was an IVSS judge in 2020 and 2021.

The webinar will take place in two sections, with Juan presenting the first half (from 09:00 a.m. to 09:30 a.m. MST) in English, and the second half (from 09:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. MST) in Spanish. Since literature reviews are a required element for IVSS projects in grades 06-16, this webinar will provide useful tips on how to make the most of your literature review (including searching for primary and secondary references, and making a personal library) – and save time doing it!
