The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Conference in Boston, 3–6 April, promises to be an exciting weekend exploring ideas and practices that enhance teaching and learning driven by the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). North America Regional Meeting and Train the Trainer Workshop
In advance of the NSTA Annual Conference in Boston, a Train-The-Trainer Workshop will take place on 31 March to 1 April along with the GLOBE North America Regional Meeting for Partners on 2 April, at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. These are two wonderful opportunities to connect with friends and forge new relationships while keeping up to date on new developments at GLOBE.

Earth Day
Earth Day is held every year on 22 April. Growing out of the first Earth Day in 1970, Earth Day Network works with more than 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement.
On the GLOBE Facebook page, we'll be posting stories of students, teachers and partners who have been influenced by GLOBE to pursue further studies in STEM subjects or who have been inspired by GLOBE to take greater care of their local environment. Click here for details.

ESA Education Share Fair
Do you have ideas to bring the thrill of biology and real world connections to your students? Share your lesson ideas and connect with professional scientists who can provide feedback and help clarify and update content to keep your students engaged and interested in biological sciences at the Ecological Society of America's (ESA) Education Share Fair. Thacher Environmental Research Contest
The Thacher Environmental Research Contest is a national competition for secondary school students founded by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in honor of former IGES board member Peter Thacher, former deputy executive director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), NASA advisor and a leader in promoting the use of satellite remote sensing.
Cash prizes are awarded annually to secondary school students (grades 9-12) designing and conducting the best projects using satellite remote sensing of the Earth. More information can be found here.

Europe Aerosols Campaign
The Spring 2014 Intensive Observing Period for the Europe and Eurasia Aerosols Campaign is underway from 9 March to 9 May 2014. We encourage all students in the region to participate in this opportunity to improve their understanding of aerosols and the influence of aerosols on climate change and air quality.
