Register by 15 February for 2016 Train-the-Trainer and North American Regional Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, USA
Registration is now open for the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) and the North American Regional Meeting (NARM). The events will take place 28-30 March at the Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Please register by 15 February!
The TTT will begin the evening of Monday, 28 March and continue for the full day on Tuesday, 29 March. The theme for this year's TTT is focused on "Air Quality and Urban Communities." Monday night will be an introduction to the theme and instrument calibration, a key step when training GLOBE. Tuesday morning will begin with Elementary GLOBE Aerosols and then launches into the aerosol, temperature, and precipitation protocols. John Moore will share his new project, Weather Watchers, over lunch and then we have an afternoon devoted to investigation questions, data and visualizations around the theme. Mike Jabot (Newr York) and David Padgett (Tennessee) will be enhancing our knowledge from their areas of expertise. The afternoon closes with implementation roundtables by grade level. The cost of this training is $50, and includes lunch on Tuesday.
The NARM will begin with an evening reception and opening presentations on Tuesday, 29 March and will continue for the full-day on Wednesday, 30 March. The agenda is developing with input from the organizing committee: Jennifer Bourgeault (USCC), Mike Jabot (New York), Lynne Hehr (Arkansas), Sherry Herron (Mississippi), Tony Murphy (GIO, Colorado), David Padgett (Tennessee), and Kim Sadler (Tennessee) and the US Partner Forum members. The day will be focused on networking and learning from each other and from our website experts. There will be website troubleshooting task tables, a website update, an introduction to the new Elementary GLOBE Climate book, an overview of the NASA CAN awards to our GLOBE partner colleagues, best practices roundtables, and a facilitated discussion session on how we can increase national collaboration and visibility, specifically in response to the NSF Dear Colleague letter. There is a registration fee of $50, which includes the evening reception Tuesday and lunch on Wednesday.
Both of these meetings are open to all U.S. Partnerships, Canadian partners and our collaborators.
