Year-Long Internship Opportunity for New York High School STEM Educators at NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies – Apply by 21 September
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Office of Education, is currently seeking U.S. high school STEM educators to participate in a year-long NASA climate research initiative located at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York City. The closing date for applications is 21 September 2017.
Applicants should reside within a 50-mile radius of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, located in New York City, USA. In addition, educator applicants must be currently employed as full-time STEM educators and also be U.S. citizens in order to participate in this opportunity.
This is a STEM engagement opportunity for STEM educators to work directly with NASA scientists, lead research teams, and develop STEM curriculum for their current classes. Educators participating in this opportunity will become associate researchers at the NASA GISS and STEM education experts – and will integrate NASA education resources and content into their classroom while improving STEM education within their community.
Time Commitment:
- Fall: 09 October-15 December 2017 – 05 hours per week for 10 weeks
- Spring: 05 February-15 April 2018 – 05 hours per week for 10 weeks
- Summer: 02 July-10 August – Full-Time, 40 hours per week for 06 weeks
Annual Stipend Amount: $6,375
