Urban Heat Island Effect Campaign in Full Force

We are just a little over half way through October and the first month of the Urban Heat Island Effect Campaign. Students in many areas of the world are taking observations and entering the on the GLOBE dataset. Data has been entered from 92 sites so far. There are some clusters of data in the midwest of the United States, Croatia, Saudia Arabia and Taiwan. If you are taking surface temperature observations, please take them from at least two sites near each other. We like it when students look at a vegetated surface and a paved surface. This is a great way to compare impervious surfaces to vegetated surfaces.
