Become a Member of a GLOBE Working Group: Nominations Due 17 November

Become a member of a GLOBE Working Group! The GLOBE Program is seeking nominations for the four Working Groups: Education, Evaluation, Science, and Technology. Nominations are due by 17 November 2017. Get involved in shaping the future of The GLOBE Program!

The purpose of the Working Groups is to enhance the role of GLOBE U.S. and country partners and GLOBE STEM professionals and educators in shaping the future of The GLOBE Program and supporting the development and implementation of GLOBE worldwide.

Members are needed from the following regions for the following Working Groups:

  • Africa Region:
    • Education  (1 at-large representative, open to all GLOBE regions)
    • Science  (1 representative from Africa Region)
    • Technology  (1 representative from Africa Region)
  • Asia and Pacific Region:
    • Education  (1 at-large representative, open to all GLOBE regions)
    • Education  (1 representative from Asia and Pacific Region)
    • Evaluation (1 representative from Asia and Pacific Region)
    • Technology (1 representative from Asia and Pacific Region)
  • Europe and Eurasia Region:
    • Education (1 at-large representative, open to all GLOBE regions)
    • Technology (1 representative from Europe and Eurasia Region)
  • Latin America and Caribbean Region:
    • Education (1 at-large representative, open to all regions)
    • Evaluation (1 representative from LAC Region)
    • Science (1 representative from LAC Region)
    • Technology (1 representative from LAC Region)
  • Near East and North Africa Region:
    • Education (1 at-large representative, open to all GLOBE regions)
    • Evaluation (1 representative from NENA Region)
    • Science (1 representative from NENA Region)
    • Technology  (1 representative from NENA Region)                 
  • North America Region:
    • Education (1 at-large representative, open to all regions)
    • Evaluation (1 representative from North America Region)
    • Technology (1 representative from North America Region)

If you would like to apply to be considered for a place on the Working Group: Please complete the Working Group Candidate Statement and send it, along with a two-page resume, to lackey@ucar.edu by 17 November 2017. Please be sure that you fulfill all necessary procedures within your organization that are required to serve on this GLOBE program Working Group.

If you would like to nominate someone who you think would be a good candidate for any of the Working Groups: Please complete the Working Group Nomination Form and send it to lackey@ucar.edu by 17 November 2017. Also, let the person whom you have nominated know that you are endorsing him/her, and ask him/her to send the Working Group Candidate Statement along with a two-page resume to lackey@ucar.edu by 17 Novembery 2017. Please remind your nominee that he/she has to fulfill all necessary procedures within his/her organization that are required to serve on this GLOBE program Working Group.

Please keep in mind: Working Group members have monthly meetings via Zoom. This requires a functioning internet connection. Members are expected to attend at least nine of the 12 monthly meetings over the course of the year. Working Groups also meet at the annual meeting. In order to be productive, functional, and representative of their region, members need to fully participate in both the online meetings and any email correspondence each year of service.
