The NASA Science Activation (SciAct) program connects people of all ages and backgrounds with science content, experts, data and more from NASA’s Science Mission Directorate to encourage participation in science. This is accomplished through collaboration between SciAct project teams, including some GLOBE Partnerships, working within their communities across the U.S.  >>

The U.S. GLOBE Office provided funding to additional Partnerships to integrate the Earth Around Us soil and water tents into their programming. Each Partnership recently submitted reports on their activities.  >>

The 2024 U.S. GLOBE Partner Yearbook is available for viewing and sharing. The yearbook includes background information about the U.S. Country Coordination Office activities, news stories about people throughout the U.S. using GLOBE in their communities, and provides highlights from 34 GLOBE Partners — colleges, universities, nonprofits, and other organizations who support educators and citizen scientists in their communities.  >>

We celebrate the work of the middle and high school educators who successfully completed a year-long professional development experience as part of the 2024–25 ENGAGE (Earth, NASA, GLOBE, And Guided Explorations) GLOBE Mission Earth cohort.  >>

Four Student Research Symposium (SRS) teams were selected to participate in the 2025 GLOBE Annual Meeting Student Research Experience.  >>

GLOBE student Jackson P., a senior at Gulfport High School (Mississippi), has received the Randall Research Scholarship. Jackson used his GLOBE project that he started in 8th grade at Bayou View Middle School with Mrs. Angela Lee, “How Does Runoff cause/affect Dead Zones and Ocean life within them?” to assist in getting this award.  >>

The GLOBE community extends congratulations to Dr. Michael Notaro, U.S. GLOBE Partner at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, for his recent award for public science engagement by the University of Wisconsin–Madison.  >>

Lily C., a 9th grader from Gulfport High School, Gulfport, Mississippi, took her GLOBE project “The Gulf of Mexico Dead Zone” to the 2025 University of Southern Mississippi Regional Science Fair. Lily started this project as an 8th grade student at Bayou View Middle School, where she was under the guidance of GLOBE educator Angela Lee.  >>

The GLOBE Clouds team is looking forward to the 2025 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition, where we will be demonstrating many GLOBE resources that are ready to be used and enjoyed at libraries!  >>

The GLOBE U.S. Student Research Symposium (SRS) went virtual in 2025. From 5 to 9 May, middle and high school students from 21 schools shared their research with their peers and STEM professionals through recorded presentations and facilitated discussions. In all, the GLOBE U.S. Coordination Office received 41 student projects from 114 presenters.  >>
