Kazakhstan GLOBE Training Workshop, March 1997
The GLOBE Program was pleased to conduct a regional GLOBE Training Workshop in Almaty, Kazakstan, March 31-April 4, 1997. Participants came from throughout Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, and Russia to learn about the GLOBE Progam and to be trained in the GLOBE Protocols. The workshop was hosted and organized by the Kazakstani GLOBE Country Coordinator,the Fund in Support of Ecological Education.
The Fund was able to purchase instruments and train more than 40 Kazakstani teachers with support from the Ministry of Education, the Mobil Corporation, IBM, and non-profit groups such as the Soros Foundation and Mercy Corps.
Working closely with the United States Peace Corps, GLOBE was also able to include Peace Corps Volunteers and staff from all of the participating countries in this GLOBE Training Workshop.
