GLOBE Inspires Poetry
Over the years, many schools have used GLOBE in non-science subjects such as math, social studies, and language classes to name a few. We would like to share a poem written by a Yayou Herve, a student from the Lycee Technique de Bafoussom in Cameroon. The poem was written in French and has been translated into English. The English version follows the French version below.

GLOBE; GLOBE;
Tu as traverse des pays;
Des continents;
Et tu as frappé a la porte de mon esprit.
Oui toi GLOBE;
Qu'as-tu fais de ma vie?
Oui GLOBE que sont devenues mes connaissances?
GLOBE; la SCIENCE ; mon ENVIRONNEMENT que sont-ils pour moi?
GLOBE, GLOBE
Que dire? oui que dire?
Grace a toi a toi GLOBE
Ma vie est devenue un modèle;
Mon être est devenu responsable;
Mes études ont pris un train;
Mes connaissances sont si grandioses;
Oui GLOBE; tu es venu; tu es bien venu.
Je t'ai connu; oui je t'ai bien connu
Et tu as soulage mes peines.
OH GLOBE; mon ENVIRONNEMENT; Grace a toi
Je le maitrise;
Je le protège et
Je le contrôle.
GLOBE; GLOBE ma reconnaissance pour toi;
Et mon amour pour sensibiliser et préserver L'ENVIRONNEMENT a jamais.

Que tes oeuvres continuent;
Oui continu a sauver la jeunesse;
Notre ENVIRONNEMENT qui nous est très cher.

Je continuerai avec toi a lutter pour l'ENVIRONNEMENT et a veiller les consciences;
C'est pourquoi tu es venu jusque moi.

En moi tu resteras pour toujours et ton objectif restera pour une devise.

What have you made of my life?
Yes GLOBE, what knowledge have I gathered?
GLOBE the SCIENCE; my ENVIRONMENT, what are they to me?
GLOBE, GLOBE
What do I say; Oh, what do I say?
Thanks to you; to you GLOBE;
My life has become a model;
My being has become responsible;
My studies have taken meaning;
My knowledge is so great;
Yes GLOBE; You are welcome! You are very welcome;
I have known you, I have known you well,
And you have relieved me of my pain.

I master it; I protect it and I control it;
