5th Annual GLOBE Scientist Fair in the Kingdom of Bahrain Brings Student Focus to Climate Change
Enhancing on the Annual Activities conducted by the GLOBE Program in the Kingdom of Bahrain, The 5th Annual GLOBE Scientist Fair took place in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 22-24 March 2009. Focused on the theme GLOBE Research for the Effects of Greenhouse Gases, 20 research topics related to GLOBE's Student Campaign for Reseach on Climate were on display, with student researchers on hand to explain their projects to judges and participants.

Great Things are Happening in Bahrain
GLOBE Bahrain enjoyed an energetic schedule of 2008 events and, if the 26 January Teacher Training Workshop is any indication, is looking forward to an equally productive 2009. Along with conducting regular teacher trainings for both new and experienced GLOBE teachers, Country Coordinator, Mrs. Wafa Bin Dayna and her team from the Ministry of Education have been working hard to keep the discussion of climate research high on the program's list of priorities and to engage students in the process.

The Third Annual GLOBE Young Scientist Fair in Bahrain
The Bahrain GLOBE Young Scientists Fair is one of the most educational, fun, and creative assignments that GLOBE Bahrain offers to GLOBE students every year. It is an excellent activity for classroom outings. Students can become experts in their neighborhoods by learning about their local environment.

GLOBE Students and Teachers Explore How to Volunteer for Change
Over 70 GLOBE students and 50 teachers took part in the Volunteers for Change Workshop held at the Shaikh Khalifa Institute for Technology in March 2006. The three-day workshop proved to be a very rewarding experience for all involved and included lectures in English and Arabic on voluntary work, development of community service projects, how to organize volunteers, and a variety of activities and discussions.

Bahrain Students Walk for Environmental Awareness
The Bahrain GLOBE Green Walk Event took place on January 25, 2006. Thirteen groups of up to ten members spent an entire day at AL-Areen Wildlife Reserve Park for a day of fun environmental education. The 140 students and teachers participating in this event explored the natural beauty of their park, deepened their awareness about the environment, while demonstrating good environmental practice and behavior.

1st GLOBE Young Scientists Fair in Bahrain
Once again, the GLOBE Program of Bahrain completed a student activity with great success! On May 9, 2005, the First GLOBE Young Scientist Fair was held at Shaikh Khalifa Institute of Technology under the patronage of his Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi, and the United States Ambassador to Bahrain, William Monroe.

Bahrain TTT Workshop
During December 4-12, over 70 individuals from 6 countries attended a GLOBE Train-the-Trainer Workshop in Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bahrain Ministry of Education graciously hosted the workshop with the support of the U.S. Embassy. Mrs. Zakeya Ali Ahmed, Bahrain Country Coordinator, along with a team of GLOBE student volunteers, organized the workshop and made sure that the workshop was a success.
