The 2026 GLOBE Taiwan Partnership’s Science Festival and International Student Exchange took place on 19 May 2026, in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Organized by the GLOBE Taiwan Partnership office at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, National Central University (NCU), the event brought together approximately 30 teachers and 80 students from Taiwan, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Thailand for scientific exchange, student research presentations, and international collaboration.  >>

GLOBE Nigeria, under the Federal Ministry of Education, is collaborating with the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) under Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to support malaria elimination efforts across the country.  >>

Mr. Stojan Manolev retired in 2024 from a North Macedonia high school where he taught physics while also leading a GLOBE section on atmospheric measurements. Because of changing conditions in the North Macedonia region, Mr. Manolev became increasingly interested in tracking local atmospheric patterns more closely, setting up an automatic, solar-powered weather station to provide local residents with readily available access to atmospheric characteristics.  >>

The GLOBE Water Wise Project Celebration, held at Villa Rundle, marked an important milestone in another successful year of GLOBE implementation in Gozo. The event brought together students, educators, partners, and stakeholders to celebrate learning, scientific investigation, and environmental stewardship through the GLOBE Program.  >>

Long-time GLOBE Partner Tracy Ostrom recently retired from the University of California at Berkeley. Although we know she will stay involved with GLOBE throughout her retirement, we wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate some of Tracy’s many accomplishments and contributions to GLOBE.  >>

On 20 March 2026, students, children, teachers, and citizens gathered in person and virtually for one of the most successful editions of the annual Rivers in Spring event—an event to celebrate World Water Day. Organized by GLOBE Italy, the event once again demonstrated the power of science, education, and community engagement in advancing water awareness and environmental stewardship.  >>

GLOBE Ireland just wrapped up another successful precipitation and pH monitoring period as part of its Climate Resilience: Rainfall and Flooding campaign. Students collected precipitation (rain depth) and pH data across Ireland and parts of Europe. They learned about climate resilience and how they could make their schools “spongier” through nature-based solutions.  >>
