Earth Day 2014

Every year on April 22, over a billion people in 190 countries take action for Earth Day. GLOBE students plant trees, clean up their communities, contact their elected officials, and moreā€”all on behalf of the environment.

Plans for the GLOBE Program were announced on Earth Day 1994 in Washington D.C., and one year later, on Earth Day 1995, The GLOBE Program officially began operations. It's understandable why Earth Day is such an important day for the GLOBE community. On 22 April, on the GLOBE Facebook page, we'll be posting stories of students and teachers who have been influenced by their GLOBE experiences to pursue further education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

Students and teachers engaging in activities to protect the environment: we'll be posting your stories, too.

Students, Teachers and Partners: We invite you to send your stories so that we can share them with the GLOBE Community. Click here for details.
