NASA Seeking High School STEM Educators for Research Initiative
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Office of Education is seeking high school STEM educators to participate in a year-long NASA GISS (Goddard Institute for Space Studies) Climate Change Research Initiative (CCRI).
The CCRI, which will be located in New York City at the NASA GSFC, is a year-long STEM engagement opportunity for STEM educators to work direclty with NASA scientists, lead research teams, and develop STEM curriculum for their current classes. Participating educators will become associate researchers while remaining in their current teaching positions.
There is an annual stipend amount of $9,000.00, and the time commitment is:
- Fall: 5 October through 11 December 2015 (10 hours per week for 10 weeks)
- Spring: 1 February through 8 April 2016 (10 hours per week for 10 weeks)
- Summer: 27 June through 12 August 2015 (40 hours per week for 10 weeks)
The application deadline is 18 September. All applicants must be currently employed as full-time STEM educators and also be U.S. citizens. Applicants should reside within a 50-mile radius from the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (located at 2880 Broadway, New York New York).
