NASA The State of Trees –- November 2023
Event Time: 1:00 pm EST - 2:00 pm EST
Join the Trees Around the GLOBE Student Research Campaign Team as they come at you live from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, where we will be highlighting tree height and land cover observations from Parque Morelos, in the center of the city. Brian Campbell and Peder Nelson will be in this location for a special science colloquium and will be investigating local trees and land cover. Using the tree height and land cover observations, we will showcase how to understand biomass estimations and calculate tree carbon sequestration and tree age, based on tree species' growth factors. During this webinar, Peter Falcon will highlight his recent trip to Panama, working with students, teachers, and the GLOBE Latin America and Caribbean Region through ground-based observations and NASA science.
