Greetings from Perkins High School in Perkins Township which is located next to Sandusky, Ohio - home to Cedar Point - America's Rollercoaster capital.
I've been at PHS for 25 years - teaching chemistry, astronomy, and physics. New for the 2018-2019 school year, I will also be facilitating learning in AP Environmental Science and Citizen Science Research. For the last 4 years I've been a teacher liaison for Perkins teachers who have been involved in the iEvolve with STEM project. In this role, I've trained teachers to use GLOBE protocols and supervised students on field site visits to collect data as part of the local and regional research projects that students were completing.
My new courses will allow me to have student engage in seeking answers to questions about the changes that are happening in our local, regional, and global systems. I'm looking forward to bringing GLOBE into my own classroom!
