Rivers in Spring - the 1st virtual “World Water Day” in Mantova, Italy, March 22, 2021
INVITATION
CCs, Teachers and respective students and scientists of the GLOBE Europe and Eurasia Region are kindly invited to participate in the 21st edition of RIVERS OF SPRING, the event that will celebrate World Water Day on 22 March, in Mantova, Northern Italy.
The official theme of the event is VALUING WATER.
The event will be held on a virtual platform, to ensure the broadest international participation.

The event is divided into two sessions:
Morning session: 8:45 am – 1:20 pm CET Detailed agenda is available HERE
Afternoon session: 4:00 - 6:00 pm CET
Morning session will be educationally oriented:
videos and presentations created by Italian and European and Eurasian schools, Italian and international universities and research centers, local authorities, associations, water control, protection and management agencies and companies. There will be also 3 slots organized by representatives of the Parliament or the European Commission on European water policies.
Audience: children, students, teachers, pedagogues, environmental educators, researchers and science communicators, citizens
The afternoon session will be scientifically oriented: attended by scientists from the Department of Chemical Sciences, Life and Environmental Sustainability of the University of Parma, Institute of Bioeconomy (IBE) of the National Research Council of Florence, Institute of Electromagnetic Detection of the Environment (IREA) of the National Research Council of Milan, Joint Research Center of the European Commission of Ispra (Varese). The presence of a researcher Dr. JT Reager in the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory is also expected.
Audience: secondary school students, teachers, scientists, scientific communicators and citizens.
The event is carried out in the framework of GLOBE EUROPE-EURASIA aimed at making students, teachers and citizens aware of the conservation of natural resources and particularly water in the context of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The event is promoted by LABTER-CREA School Network in Mantova, in collaboration with GLOBE Italy, with the GLOBE Italia Association, the network of schools coordinated by the IISS "Bassa Friulana" of Cervignano del Friuli (UD), Mantova Town community and GLOBE Europe-Eurasia Regional Coordination Office.
