Happy Earth Day (22 April): Help GLOBE Celebrate with a Special Earth Day Broadcast This Morning

Earth Day is 22 April – and marks The GLOBE Program’s 27th Anniversary! There will be a special Earth Day broadcast, which will begin at 09:00 a.m. MST (04:00 p.m. UTC). (To find out what time the broadcast starts in your area, click here.)

This year, Earth Day events will feature:

  • Opening Remarks: GIO Director Dr. Tony Murphy will kick off the celebration.
  • Video Presentation: There will be a special presentation for the GLOBE community.
  • 2022 IVSS Drawing: Student teams from each region who have successfully participated in the 2022 International Virtual Science Symposium (IVSS) will be entered into a drawing to receive admission to GLOBE’s virtual 2022 Annual Meeting and a stipend for purchase of science equipment for their classrooms.
  • Data Collection Results: The results, and featured photos/visualizations, from the Air Temperature (AT) Data Challenge will be shared with the community. 
  • GLOBE Student Vloggers: The 2022/2023 GLOBE Student Vlogger cohort will be welcomed into the community.
  • Closing Remarks: GLOBE Program Manager (NASA Headquarters) Dr. Allison Leidner will share closing remarks.
