Global Precipitation Measurement Mission: Water Cycle – Webinar 03 March (for K-12 Teachers)

GPM Mission

K-12 Teachers! Join the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mission on Thursday, 03 March, (6:30 p.m. ET) for a webinar discussing the water cycle and the Global Precipitation Measurement Mission. Register today!

The GPM is an international satellite mission (NASA and JAXA) to provide next-generation observations of rain and snow. The GPM mission will help advance our understanding of Earth's water and energy cycles, improve the forecasting of extreme events that cause natural disasters, and extend current capabilities of using satellite precipitation information to directly benefit society.

Topics that will be discussed at this 90-minute webinar include: What is water? Where did Earth’s water come from? In addition, the webinar will cover water cycle basics, water management, freshwater versus salt water usage to meet our needs, freshwater availability, and how NASA helps us better understand the water cycle. (Webinar presenters are Dalia Kirschbaum and Dorian Janney.)
