Join the GLOBE Virtual Lakes Expedition
The U.S. GLOBE Office would like to invite you and your students to participate in an international virtual expedition that is taking place October 2-8, 2018 in several GLOBE countries around the world!
Follow the GLOBE expedition to Lake Victoria in Africa and Pokhara Lake in Nepal. Visit your own lake and compare your measurements to the ones collected on other expeditions. The measurements collected at local lakes are:
- Water Temperature
- pH
- Transparency
- Dissolved Oxygen
- Cloud Observation
- (Optional) Internationally, several groups are including the Mosquito Habitat Mapper using the NASA GLOBE Observer app.
If you are interested in participating in the project October 2-8, 2018 and would like to learn more as the details are distributed, please register here.
The expectation is that you and your students would collect data and enter it on the GLOBE website. During that week and through future virtual meetings and penpal exchanges, students will interact with international collaborators and scientists on comparing and analyzing the data collected during the week.
