Trees Around the GLOBE Student Research Campaign Webinar: “The State of Trees – April 2023 shareable

The Trees Around the GLOBE Student Research Campaign will be hosting the webinar: “The State of Trees – April 2023: The NASA Surface Water and Open Topography (SWOT) Mission and How it Aligns to Water Edges and Land Cover” on Wednesday, 12 April, at 01:00 p.m. EDT (05:00 p.m. UTC/07:00 p.m. CEST).

Join the campaign team and Dr. Ben Hamlington, Research Scientist in the Sea Level and Ice Group (Earth Sciences Section at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, USA) as we discuss the NASA SWOT Mission. Learn about NASA's first global survey of Earth's surface water, providing data for clean air and water, extreme events, and long-term environmental changes.

Participants will also learn how this mission aligns to an upcoming GLOBE Challenge focusing on water edges and land cover. The webinar will finish with a recap of the results from the One-Week Paired Tree Height and Land Cover Intensive Observation Period.

If you are interested in joining the webinar, please send an email to Campaign Lead, Brian Campbell. To learn more about the Trees Around the GLOBE Student Research Campaign, click here.
