ENO Tree Planting Day 2012
ENO Tree Planting Day is an open event for schools and groups interested in environment and peace. It is arranged twice in a year, in May and in September. We plant trees and get to know about species on the planting sites. Tree planting is one of the most popular activities in the ENO Programme. Join us! To celebrate the 12th ENO Tree Planting Day and the forthcoming Rio 20+ we call all the schools in the world to plant trees with us on the 22nd of May 2012. We aim to create the worlds' biggest event for schools, to extend it all the countries in the world. See the video on the right to get an idea about the day!

Earth Day 2012
For GLOBE, Earth Day is always a special day. It marks the anniversary of the Program and it is also the time when the international community celebrates our planet. Be sure to visit the new GLOBE Facebook page on 22 April to see the winners of the GLOBE video competition. Facebook is a great place to let us, and the rest of the GLOBE community, know what you are doing to celebrate Earth Day. The GLOBE Program Office (GPO) encourages you to share your pictures and stories. If you are looking for ideas for ways to celebrate Earth Day, the Earth Day Network has information about international projects that might interest you.

World Water Day 2012
International World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. An international day to celebrate freshwater was recommended at the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). The United Nations General Assembly responded by designating 22 March 1993 as the first World Water Day.

GLOBE Video Competition - Earth Day 2012
Students create a video of their class engaging in exploring and investigating their local climate through data collection with GLOBE protocols and climate-focused learning activities. Students explain what they are doing and what climate projects they are working on in their home language on the video. An English written transcript of the video should be submitted to ensure proper credit and archival of all submissions. Upload your video to your favorite video sharing website (for example YouTube, TeacherTube, Vimeo, or others) and send us the link to your video.
