There was a lot of interactive discussions between students, teachers, scientists, and NASA education personnel during the December 3 and December 4 Open Forums for the Trees Around the GLOBE Student Research Campaign.
Here are the questions that were discussed as potential student research projects related to Trees. Students are invited to use any of these questions, or their own, in developing student research projects. High school students in GLOBE teacher Mercy Molina's 11th grade class are working in five small research groups to investigate various aspects of mosquitoes in their region. It is a photograph of a gigantic jet as observed by pilot Chris Holmes as he traveled at 35,000 ft over the Gulf of Mexico near the Yucatan Peninsula. In the GLOBE Clouds protocol and GLOBE Observer app, you can report if your sky is “overcast” or “obscured”. But what’s the difference? Below are some tips to help! All the photographs featured were collected by observers just like you - Thank you!
I found “obscured” and “overcast” very confusing at first, but when I understood what they meant, things made much more sense. Let’s start by defining them:

The GLOBE Mission Mosquito campaign was delighted to have 23 IVSS projects submitted that used the Mosquito Habitat Mapper tool in their research. These projects came from students in elementary school through graduate students in college and were submitted from 15 different countries. You can view an interactive map of these projects here .
