For pupils studying to become Chemistry technicians we decided to connect learning of clouds with History. These pupils were asked to find old postcards of our hometown, determine the current location shown in the postcard and establish the type of a cloud. Eleven chemistry technicians pupils were using postcards from the past and got a chance to see their hometown from the begining of the 20th century (postcards dated from 1902. to 1935.) while practising determination of the clouds. Our school „Prirodoslovno – grafička” in Zadar joined GLOBE program in November 2020. Our first task was retrieving data about clouds. The challenge was to train pupils in recognising different types of clouds given that this is not covered by their school curriculum. The American SpaceX company has stacked the biggest rocket ever constructed. The vehicle's two segments - an upper-stage called Starship and a booster called Super Heavy - were connected together at the firm's Starbase R&D facility in Boca Chica, Texas. Hi! My name is Om, and I'm a high school junior. This summer, I participated in the SEES Internship Program a partnership with UT Austin and NASA, and worked with the Mosquito Mapper cohort. Many protocol-trained GLOBE members may have noticed a recent update to the GLOBE Program’s GLOBE Observer app. The change brings a new look and a new way to submit GLOBE atmospheric measurements. If you were used to entering meteorological conditions in the Cloud Tool, you’ll see this option is no longer there. Don’t worry, you can still submit these observations through the Atmosphere Data Entry section. You just need to do a few extra steps to get it all set up. In a move that throws cold water into the dreams of some billionaire space explorers, the United States has toughened its definition of the word "astronaut." The new rules of the FAA (the agency that regulates civil aviation in the United States) say that astronauts must be part of the crew and contribute to the safety of space flights. Black holes are astronomical objects that have a gravity so strong that not even light can escape. Neutron stars are incredibly dense dead stars. It is estimated that a teaspoon of material from a neutron star weighs about 4 billion tons. Both objects are cosmic monsters, but black holes are considerably more massive than neutron stars. I've heard a number of folks wish they could track how many observations individual users have performed in a GLOBE team. We're working on building that out on the website, along with tracking individual student contributions for schools. In the mean time, I made this spreadsheet which will figure it out for you if you know the user's UserID. Enter the date range, protocol and a list of UserIDs, and the spreadsheet will present how many measurements that user has performed for that protocol and date range.
