Attention GLOBE Students, Educators and Partners!
Our mission is active—the NASA IMPACTS Daily Science Plan indicates that a flight is planned for 23 February (Thursday) with take-off planned for 6:00 a.m. ET. You can monitor the flight in real-time or see the completed flight path afterward.
Leave your snowboard out, with data collection throughout the storm and 24 hours afterward if possible, or as soon as you can (e.g., if you are taking measurements at a school).
Measurements requested include:
New snow depth
Snowpack depth
Snow water equivalent
Clouds (optional)
Photos of snowflakes (optional)
Even if you don’t get precipitation in your area, recording and submitting zero precipitation is helpful for the mission. If you don’t get snow, measure the rainfall if possible.
