The annual competition "Future Scientists"

The Science and Environment Center at the Ministry of Education organized the National Contest for Future Scientists at its thirteenth session for the academic year 2016-2017 for students of public and private schools for all primary, preparatory and secondary levels. The competition title for this academic year is Science for Sustainable Environment. The competition aims to create a generation capable of competing locally and globally in the field of scientific research, thus contributing to the support of the knowledge-based economy in our beloved Kingdom, as well as promoting the spirit of cultural exchange and social interaction between students and the public,

The number of participating projects has grown as follows

The competition goes through stages as follows:

Initialization stage

    Workshops and lectures were organized to prepare students and teachers to participate in the competition. They were trained on the basis of scientific research and innovation. They were also introduced to the latest developments in the field of scientific research and innovation, and helped them to select or identify topics of research or innovation. In East Riffa on Tuesday and Wednesday 4 and 5 October 2016 from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm in the presence of 200 teachers and students from participating schools, and those who contributed to the preparation are:

 

  • Supreme Council for Environment
  • Bahrain University
  • Bahrain Youth Society Inventors
  • Gulf Petrochemical Company (GPIC)
  • Association of Engineers
  • Ministry of Labor and Social Development
  • Bahrain Society of Researchers and Inventors.
  • Petroleum Development Company.

 

- Initial arbitration of projects

A committee composed of local university professors and experts from various agencies evaluated the scientific projects. The project idea and detailed work plan were presented by the participating students to the committee to select good projects and projects with new and distinctive ideas to enter the second stage of the competition.:

 

                         

                       

 

  •  The primary stage on 19 October 2016 at the Center for Science and Environment.
  •  The preparatory stage on October 20, 2017 at the Science and Environment Center.
  • The secondary stage was held on 24 and 25 October 2016 in the conference hall of the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman Institute for Technology.

- Final arbitration of projects

In the third phase of the competition, all scientific projects have been evaluated by the jury composed of university professors and specialists from the Ministry of Education and other relevant bodies in order to select the winning projects in the first three winners  for each study stage. Whether innovative or scientific research before the Commission, and that was during the month of February 2017.

 

 

- "Future Scientists" Exhibition

In the final stage of the competition, a scientific exhibition was held in which all scientific projects were presented. The exhibition was held during the period 21-23 March 2017 at the Essa Cultural Center and was opened by His Excellency the Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi. Participants presented their studies and innovations to the Minister of Education and the directors and heads of departments in the ministry, as well as guests from various institutions and institutions in the Kingdom. The exhibition was open to school students and parents for three consecutive days. On the third day, Honorable by the Minister of Education. The winning projects were also announced and gifts and memorial shields were presented to the winners.
