The University of Toledo is leading an effort to have students, teachers and citizen scientists to take surface temperature, air temperature and cloud observations before and after the solar eclipse. Eclipse boxes have been provided to schools associated with the Citizen CATE (Continental America Telescopic Eclipse) program led by Matt Penn at National Solar Observatory.
