Dear all,

If you look around in a forest, park or in a meadow, you will see a lot of green color. You might come across forest green, emerald, olive, brown-green, fir, lime or grass green. But have you actually ever wondered how many shades of green you can see?  Task 5 – Green Color Scale will help you to find the answer.

Task 5 is the last task of 2018 Spring Campaign and it will be your "homework" for the summer:-) Whether you're going to finish it before or during summer holidays or in September, don´t forget to share the photos at the discussion forum.

The 2018 Spring Phenology Campaign is coming to its end. If you haven´t shared your results and pictures, please send them by e-mail to lenka.kleger@terezanet.cz or post them on this forum by June 15th.

I would also like to ask you to share your conclusions and feedback in the online form or through the attached form (send it to lenka.kleger@terezanet.cz).
Please complete the questionnaire by June 15th.

Thank you.

Lenka

Task 5 – Green Color Scale

1) Go outside and collect a variety of green leaves
  • Check leaves on your tree. Are they all equally green? Is the green color similar on both sides of a leave? What about other trees?
  • To have a greater variety of green color, collect also leaves from bushes and herbs.

2) Create the green color scale
  • Put the leaves in a row, circle, or semicircle from the lightest to the darkest shade. How many shades have you discovered?

3) Share a photo of your scale at this Discussion forum during summer or autumn.
