What happens with trees in autumn? Why do scientists need phenology data?
Look at the trees from 3 different perspectives:
  • Inside the trees - What triggers trees to lose their leaves? Why and how do leaves change color? (Zuzana Lhotáková, Charles University, Prague)
  • Field observations - the importance of taking green down observations and tree height observations at the same time and location (Brian Campbell, NASA)
  • Satellite view - measuring vegetation greenness (NDVI) and seasonal greenings observations from space with NASA WorldView (Peder Nelson, Oregon State University)
