The GLOBE Program invites you to participate in the NASA GLOBE Land Cover Challenge 2022: Land Cover in a Changing Climate. The challenge will run from 26 July through 26 August.  >>

The GLOBE Program would like to thank everyone who participated in the Spring 2022 GLOBE Tree Height and Land Cover Intensive Observation Period (IOP), which ran from 22 April through 22 May 2022.  >>

As always, GLOBE continues to work to ensure that your “use” of the website, and associated apps, is as user-friendly as possible. In addition to regular maintenance and support, GLOBE has been working on a number of improvements for teachers and their students.  >>

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join together for a celebration of GLOBE citizen science on 26 July 2022 from 07-09 pm EDT (11-1 UTC). At “GO C3,” volunteers will connect with others who participate in The GLOBE Program using its app, GLOBE Observer; hear presentations from GLOBE volunteers; talk to scientists and learn what they are doing with GLOBE data; and meet GLOBE Observer support staff.  >>

NASA Heliophysics Education Activation Team (HEAT) is seeking highly motivated, creative STEM teachers to help develop and test science curriculum designed to use NASA resources for teaching systems science. (Systems Science is an interdisciplinary field that studies the complexity of systems in nature.) Receive $2,500 stipend, plus NASA resources for the classroom, for participating in 52 hours of virtual workshop time and pilot-testing co-developed lessons in the classroom!  >>

GLOBE Students: NASA wants your student content producers to produce a video for the NASA eClips™ website. Each tab on the challenge website provides the information and resources needed to produce a NASA Spotlite video. Teams will produce a video (90 seconds to two minutes) confronting one of two misconceptions related to clouds, by investigating and collecting evidence, including GLOBE Clouds and NASA data.  >>

GLOBE Teachers: It’s never too early to consider participating in next year’s 2023 International Virtual Science Symposium (IVSS). The IVSS is a way for primary through undergraduate students from all GLOBE countries to showcase their research and hard work.  >>

The Trees Around the GLOBE Student Research Campaign, GLOBE European Phenology Campaign, UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre (coordinator of GLOBE Poland), and the Urban Heat Island Effect - Surface Temperature Field Program, would like to invite you to participate in the Spring 2022 GLOBE Tree Height and Land Cover Intensive Observation Period (IOP) from 22 April through 22 May 2022.  >>
