GLOBE Project: EARTH DAY 2014 IN ITALY
Two events are planned in Italy to celebrate Earth Day 2014 related to GLOBE Project: the first one, ALL THE ENERGY OF THE WORLD (4/12/2014), is a relevant output of the activities of GLOBE ITALY network, the second one, EARTH DAY IN AQUILEIA (4/15/2014) is the result of an intense activity of ISIS Malignani in Cervignano del Friuli (Udine), a leading GLOBE school in Italy, coordinating plenty of schools in its area.
This new will focus only on the first event; the second one will be presented in the next new.
The event is titled ALL THE ENERGY OF THE WORLD and will be held in the Park Desenzani of Castiglione delle Stiviere, Mantova, Italy, Saturday, April 12, 2014 .
The event is organized by the Municipality of Castiglione, Labter - Crea and Mantova Province, in collaboration with many other partners.
The event will see the participation of institutions, public and private agencies, associations for the protection and defense of the environment, enterprises for the production of renewable energy and the processing of waste, schools for a total of 42 locations where activities will be held aimed at saving energy, use of energy, use of renewable energy.
This event is a direct effect of the activities of GLOBE ITALY , LABTER-CREA Mantova and ISIS Malignani Cervignano del Friuli
Two schools of GLOBE ITALY school network will take part in it: IS Fermi Mantova , which with the class 4 ° Chemists - Materials shall submit a project of biodiesel production from algae, and ISIS Malignani Cervignano del Friuli ( Udine) which will be present with a delegation of its teachers .
A series of preliminary events were organized to prepare the event:
- a Teacher Training Course, held by LABTER-CREA, in the months of January and February 2014 based on the analysis of the concept of energy, energy transformations, the degradation of energy and therefore on the concept of energy efficiency, on examination and measurement of individual, family and collective energy consumption related to consolidated behaviors, on the environmental, economic and social pollution from various forms of energy production, the need to adopt responsible behavior to reduce energy use and consequently the impact of energy on the planet.
- Two conferences, one dedicated to high school students in Castiglione, the other to the general public, focused on a different view of the plant world in March 2014
- Wednesday, April 9, 2014 the film TRASHED will be screened for free
