Taller Introducción al Programa GLOBE para maestros de Belice
Se llevó a cabo el Taller de Introducción al Programa GLOBE para maestros en Belice. El evento se realizó a lo largo de cuatro sesiones a través de la plataforma Zoom, programadas para los días 3, 4, 8 y 10 de agosto. Estas sesiones estuvieron dirigidas por la Mentor Trainer Claudia Caro Vera. Este evento reviste gran importancia, ya que es promovido por la Oficina Regional de GLOBE LAC con el propósito de fortalecer la implementación del Programa en Belice, un país que se asoció recientemente a GLOBE en 2022. La realización de talleres enfocados en los protocolos de GLOBE resultan fundamental para consolidar esta iniciativa.
Durante septiembre, se llevará a cabo la segunda parte del taller de forma presencial en Belice. Además, en esta segunda parte del taller, se profundizará en los aspectos prácticos de los Protocolos de GLOBE relacionados con la Atmósfera y la Biósfera. Los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de aplicar directamente estos protocolos en situaciones reales, fortaleciendo así su comprensión y habilidades en la recolección de datos científicos.
Asimismo, se fomentará la interacción y el intercambio de experiencias entre los maestros de Belice, permitiéndoles aprender unos de otros y crear una red de colaboración en la implementación efectiva del Programa GLOBE en sus respectivas instituciones educativas.
Este taller es un paso crucial para consolidar la presencia de GLOBE en Belice y para empoderar a los maestros con las herramientas y conocimientos necesarios para guiar a sus estudiantes en la exploración y comprensión del entorno natural a través de la ciencia y la observación directa.
The GLOBE Program Introduction Workshop for teachers was carried out in Belize. The event took place over four sessions through the Zoom platform, scheduled for August 3rd, 4th, 8th, and 10th. These sessions were led by Mentor Trainer Claudia Caro Vera. This event is of significant importance as it is promoted by the GLOBE LAC Regional Office to strengthen the implementation of the Program in Belize, a country that recently joined GLOBE in 2022. Conducting workshops focused on GLOBE protocols is crucial to solidify this initiative.
During September, the second part of the workshop will be conducted in person in Belize. Furthermore, in this second part of the workshop, a deeper exploration of the practical aspects of GLOBE Protocols related to the Atmosphere and Biosphere will take place. Participants will have the opportunity to directly apply these protocols in real-life situations, thus enhancing their understanding and skills in scientific data collection.
Additionally, interaction and the exchange of experiences among Belizean teachers will be encouraged, enabling them to learn from each other and establish a collaborative network for the effective implementation of the GLOBE Program in their respective educational institutions.
This workshop represents a crucial step in solidifying GLOBE's presence in Belize and empowering teachers with the necessary tools and knowledge to guide their students in exploring and understanding the natural environment through science and direct observation.
