Dr. Kevin Czajkowski from GLOBE Mission EARTH Participates in Apollo 50 Competition Training

ANGLeS: Apollo Next Giant Leap Student Challenge is an immersive opportunity for students to use the latest technologies to explore, inspire, create and achieve.

Teachers and science club coaches from 15 schools located in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio participated in the Apollo 50 Competition Training on April 16 and 17 at Monroe Community College in Monroe, MI. Tedrick Mealy from the University of Washington NASA's Northwest Earth and Space Science Pipeline (NESSP) lead the training on drones and Lego Mindstorms robots. Collaborating with Robert Winglet from University of Washington NESSP, Dr. Kevin Czajkowski from GLOBE Mission EARTH agreed to serve as a hub for MI/OH. 

Dr. Kevin Czajkowski from the University of Toledo, Toledo, OH and Jeff Demaray from Monroe Community College, Monroe, MI are hosting Apollo Next Giant Leap Student Challenge (ANGLeS) at Monroe Community College on Saturday July 20, 2019.

NESSP designed this student drone and robotic challenge for Grades 5-12 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the landing of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the Moon in Apollo 11.
