Workshop: NASA Langley, Hampton, VA - LEARN 2014, Virginia, United States
NASA's LEARN Project (Long-term Engagement in Authentic Research) is looking for STEM teachers, grades 6-12, to join a Research Team that will collaborate with NASA scientists on authentic research projects. Selected teachers receive training focused on atmospheric science and become GLOBE certified. After a 2-week summer on-site training, teachers continue their research through 2015 with virtual Research Team meetings and data presentations, and earn a stipend for participation. Teachers may also submit proposals for travel funding to present their research at related conferences. Application is open to U.S. citizens only. Europe and Eurasia Aerosols Campaign 2013-14
GLOBE students across the Europe and Eurasia Region have been focused on atmosphere since the Aerosols Campaign started in mid-September. Aerosols are tiny particles suspended in the air. They influence the air quality on both a local and global scale. Aerosol air pollution comes from natural as well as human sources and it is hazardous for human health, causing, for example, respiratory problems. GLOBE students will help scientists to monitor aerosols in the proximity of their school.  >>
