U.S. GLOBE Community: American Geosciences Institute Sponsoring a “Inspired by Earth” Photo Contest for Earth Science Week (14-20 October) 2018: Submissions Due 19 October
The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is sponsoring a photography contest, “Inspired by Earth,” to celebrate Earth Science Week 2018 (14-20 October). Each year, AGI organizes this national and international event to help the public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth sciences and to encourage stewardship of the Earth. This year, Earth Science Week (ESW) will celebrate the theme "Earth as Inspiration."  >>

NASA Langley GLOBE Teacher Internship: Summer 2018
The NASA Langley GLOBE Partnership hosted eight GLOBE teacher interns for 10 weeks this summer in Hampton, Virginia, USA. The interns participated in a variety of learning experiences that included connecting with NASA scientists, engineers, and educators, as well as daily GLOBE data collection and protocol exploration.  >>

The “Trees Around the GLOBE” Student Research Campaign Launches in Conjunction with the NASA ICESat-2 Satellite on 15 September!
In conjunction with the launch of NASA’s ICESat-2 (Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite), GLOBE is launching a new “Trees Around the GLOBE” student research campaign – and is now calling on all GLOBE students and teachers to start taking tree height measurements on the day of the launch: 15 September.  >>
