El Programa GLOBE Perú los invita a participar en el taller "Investigación de la Cobertura Terrestre", orientado a docentes y promotores ambientales. Se llevará a cabo el viernes, 16 de enero de 2015 en el Auditorio Principal de la Sede Central del Ministerio del Ambiente, Av. Javer Prado Oeste 1440, San Isidro, Lima. Este taller enseña sobre los protocolos, o pasos científicos, de GLOBE para investigar la cobertura terrestre y el mapeo manual de sitios de muestreo. Estas herramientas ayudarán a conocer mejor lo que ocurre en nuestro entorno y buscar soluciones informadas para problemas ambientales. Estas herramientas pueden ser aplicadas en áreas urbanas y rurales, en instituciones educativas, y con grupos comunitarios. El agenda está programado para tratar los temas siguientes: • Introducción a GLOBE y la cobertura terrestre • Definición del sitio de investigación/sitio de muestreo • Creación de mapas de cobertura terrestre (manualmente) • Clave MUC, latitud, longitud y altitud • Cobertura vegetal y del suelo, altura de árboles, arbustos y otros • Densímetro y clinómetro • Monitoreo de cobertura Expositora: M. GLOBE is inviting applications for the new Distinguished Educator Fellowship. Two Fellowships will be awarded to teachers who, working in partnership with a GLOBE scientist, propose a learning activity for the GLOBE community. Deadline is 15 December 2014.  >>

The GLOBE Student Art Competition, to find illustrations for the 2015 GLOBE calendar from among our talented student artists worldwide, is currently underway. The theme for the 2015 Calendar Art Competition is: See Globally, Act Locally: How GLOBE Connects to Earth Observing Satellites.  >>

The next GLOBE Learning Expedition will take place in New Delhi, India from 4-8 August 2014.  >>

The Surface Temperature Field Campaign will engage as many GLOBE students as possible to take surface temperature observations during the month of December 2013.  >>

The 17th GLOBE Annual Partner Meeting will be held in Maryland, USA from 12-16 August 2013. GLOBE protocol training sessions will be held at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.  >>

On July 11, GLOBE Program Office Technology Manager Jon Lang, along with the GLOBE Community Support Team, will host another hour-long training session in order to ensure that you know how to use the latest website features, including simplified Partner and Country Coordinator administrative tools.  >>
