Soil Moisture Measurement Campaign
To support the SMAP satellite mission, NASA has initiated a 7-month-long Soil Moisture Measurement Campaign and invites GLOBE schools to participate. The SMAP Campaign begins 1 October 2015 and will be ongoing through 30 April 2016.  >>

2015 Kilimanjaro Learning Xpedition
Since 2008, an international team of GLOBE scientists, teachers and students have been trekking to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to evaluate the evolving ecosystem of the largest freestanding mountain in the world. The 2015 Mt. Kilimanjaro Xpedition begins on 24 September.  >>

Workshop: Experiences in Inquiry - an IMPACT workshop, Iowa, United States
IMPACT (IMPacting Achievement with Collaborations and Technology) Workshop June 17-18, 2015 8am-5pm CDT. Participants will have the opportunity to: * Collaborate with your colleagues from across Iowa. * Participate in a WebQuest as you explore the possibilities of Inquiry. * Receive training in Earth science activities from STORM & the GLOBE Program to demonstrate Inquiry skills. * Workshop concepts may be incorporated into the teaching of any science lesson. * Practice using science as an integrating context. * Ideal opportunity for collaboration between teachers of multiple subjects. * Explore technology integration in an Inquiry setting. * The workshop complements Iowa's Every Learner Inquires Initiative and the Iowa Core Curriculum. The two day Science Inquiry workshop is free and will result in a potential of $200 stipend per participating teacher/administrator. Applications are now being accepted for participation in the 2015 IMPACT Science Inquiry workshop.
