Research Projects

Student projects will be presented in a poster presentation format. Poster size should be no more than 2 x 3 feet. All projects must use GLOBE protocols or GLOBE data, and data collected should be entered in the GLOBE Database. If you have questions about data entry, please contact your cooperating Partnership.

For more information on the poster review process, see the SRS Project Review webpage.

Participant Travel Support

Educators may apply for travel funding support by completing the Funding Application by February 1, 2024, with rolling awards after.

Dinner on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday will be provided for all participants. California participants from more than 100 miles away that have received funding to bring students will have Friday night room accommodations. All other participants who have received funding will have Friday and Saturday night room accommodations.

Ground transportation will be provided from the Marriott Hotel to the event and back on Friday and Saturday. No transportation is provided from Burbank airport to the hotel or back to the airport. Those traveling locally by car should park at the hotel and take the transport bus to the event.

Parent/Guardian Policy

The Student Research Symposia are designed as student events. Parents/guardians may be invited to portions of the event at the event organizers' discretion. These sessions will be noted on the program agenda.

Travel support from the GLOBE U.S. Coordination Office will cover one educator and a team of students. If required by the school district, the travel funding can cover one additional chaperone (e.g., both a male and female chaperone are needed to travel with students). Additional parents/guardians who would like to accompany their student(s) are expected to arrange and purchase their own travel, food, and lodging.

FAQ

What should I wear?

Presentation day is business casual. A GLOBE polo shirt will be provided for all student presenters. For other days, wear regular school clothing.

Should students bring spending money?

Meals during the event will be provided to all participants. If your team is funded through GLOBE, meals during travel will be covered as well. Students are welcome to bring money for other incidentals, but it is not necessary.
