California Partners Host In-Person NARM Workshop
On 7 and 8 November 2022, GLOBE Partners WestEd/UC Berkeley and the California Academy of Sciences co-hosted an in-person 2022 North America Regional Meeting (NARM) workshop at the Lake Merritt Boathouse in Oakland, CA. GLOBE teachers, partnerships and the GLOBE Implementation Office from Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska and California participated in the in-person event.  >>

2022 NARM at the Toledo Zoo in Ohio
Midwest partners from GLOBE Mission Earth, AREN, and Prairie Project joined forces to host “From Midwestern Prairies to City Centers: GLOBE Student Research to Better Our Region’s Environment” at The Toledo Zoo on 7 and 8 November 2022 as part of the GLOBE North American Regional Meeting (NARM). Area teachers who participated were provided stipends to cover the cost of their substitute teachers as well as GLOBE equipment and materials to take back to their classrooms!  >>

The GLOBE YOUTH GEOSCIENTIST (GYG) program provides a blend of earth system science field research with college readiness and career exploration. The GYG program held their second two-week summer program from June 27 to July 11 under a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).  >>

Summer Opportunities for Students and Teachers in Ohio
The Xcite Learning/Bowling Green State University (BGSU)/The Toledo Zoo Partnership had a busy summer! In early June, we led a STEM-based Elementary GLOBE program, including GLOBE Observer, at Waterville Primary School’s Summer Camp. In July, our partnership collaborated with BGSU’s Project IMPACT, a teacher professional development project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.  >>

GLOBE and the Natural Inquirer Crosswalk Project
Educators and pre-service teachers, earn $100 while learning about two exemplary science education resources! The GLOBE U.S. Coordination Office is looking for educators to highlight connections between the USDA Forest Service’s Natural Inquirer readers for students and GLOBE protocols, learning activities, and storybooks. The connections can be made via a blog post or other formats. We expect one crosswalk to take between two and four hours to research, design, and write. Completed projects will be posted to the GLOBE U.S. Country Coordinator’s blog and related social media.  >>
