GLOBE Africa Participates in NASA Operation IceBridge Classroom Connections
Since 2012, the NASA IceBridge mission team has connected to nearly 10,000 students and teachers via virtual chats called “Classroom Connections.” This year, classrooms in the GLOBE Africa region were able to participate and connect to the NASA aircraft flying over the Antarctic!

GISN Accepting Early Career STEM Professionals – Paying it Forward Made Easy!
Tip of the Week: The GLOBE International STEM Network (GISN) is accepting early career STEM professional. This GISN subgroup will consist of members who are upper-level undergraduate or master's students pursuing a degree in a STEM field, as well as recent graduates who are working in STEM fields who have less than five years’ experience.

The GLOBE Zika Education and Prevention Project Continues in Africa Region
As part of the GLOBE Zika Education and Prevention project, eight countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, Uganda, Guinea, Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, and Madagascar) in the GLOBE Africa region are in the depths of doing the work necessary to understand, and help reduce the threat of, mosquito-borne infectious disease.

Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists (YLACES), an organization committed to advancing student engagement in science, has announced funding to facilitate the convening of six regional GLOBE U.S. Regional Student Research Symposia.

GLOBE is pleased to host the 2019 GLOBE International Virtual Science Symposium (IVSS). The IVSS is a way for primary through undergraduate students from all GLOBE countries to showcase their hard work.

GLOBE Partners: Call for Interested GLOBE Exhibitors at 2019 World Scout Jamboree! Submit Activity Plans by 31 October
NASA Glenn Research Center is planning to have an exhibitor tent at the 2019 World Scout Jamboree – and the NASA Office of STEM Engagement is soliciting input from GLOBE partners who may be interested in supporting the event with hands-on activities for students.

The goal of GLOBE Mission Mosquito is to create an organized citizen science community, primarily through formal education with targeted outreach to informal education, that will conduct and report local observations using the GLOBE Observer Mosquito Habitat Mapper.
