U.S. GLOBE Virtual Student Research Symposium Is a Wrap
The GLOBE U.S. Student Research Symposium (SRS) went virtual in 2025. From 5 to 9 May, middle and high school students from 21 schools shared their research with their peers and STEM professionals through recorded presentations and facilitated discussions. In all, the GLOBE U.S. Coordination Office received 41 student projects from 114 presenters.

GLOBE Grows in Montenegro
Montenegro started the GLOBE Program in 2024 and has expanded its activities from two to five schools in just one year. The recent National Conference held in April focused on education and sustainable development and highlighted GLOBE’s role in promoting environmental education.

May 2025 Tech Update

Exploring Water with GLOBE and Murals
Eleven educators and graduate students were trained in GLOBE hydrosphere protocols and learned about the Earth Around Us water tent on 9 April 2025 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. The New Hampshire GLOBE Partnership, based at the Leitzel Center at the University of New Hampshire, led the workshop.

NASA Scientist Collaborates with GLOBE for Wildflower and Tree Bloom Research
Dr. Yoseline Angel is leading NASA research on wildflower and tree flower blooms and is hoping that GLOBE land cover observations will help her identify blooms in satellite data.

2025 U.S. GLOBE Virtual Student Research Symposia
The GLOBE U.S. Coordination Office is excited to announce that registration is open for the 2025 GLOBE Virtual Student Research Symposium (SRS). This year, with the cancellation of the in-person SRS, we are offering a virtual SRS for 5–12 students on May 5–9 from noon to 2:00 p.m. ET each day and a day for elementary students during the week of May 12.
